Your child should be the only one in the photo Stay away from busy backgrounds Wear bright clothing -- stay away from white and black Keep logos small, or none at all Stay away from hats, hands on the face -- anything obstructing a clear view of face and features -- no half-faces Show personality!  Smile, choose a photo that has a sparkle in the eyes When sending a photo in to an agent, they do not need to be professional, but it is best to show them in the best light -- neat and clean, no messy faces or messy hair, which is so cute for the scrapbook, but not when submitting!  You don't want anything to "take away" from the focus of the face -- that's why busy backgrounds or large logos are a no-no.  I see so many photos of kids that are so cute but they're in their living room and you see a dirty sock in the background and toys around them.  If you are looking for a good location, put a solid blanket down in your backyard and shoot a photo in front of your fence.  For a headshot, zoom in and blur out the background.  Just a few suggestions.
