Reply with quote | #1 | Hey moms and dads!
I am trying to decide if I want to commit to an exclusive agency. So I was wondering what the moms and dads on here feel about this. Is your son or daughter with an exclusive agency or non exclusive and what are the advantages/disadvantages! Thanks for you help

Reply with quote | #2 | Where are you located? Here in Florida, we are allowed to have several agents, so going exclusive with one will mean missing out on opportunities from other agencies. However, it is best to limit your agencies to one for print and other for film for each area, because if an agent calls you for an audition and you've already been called by another agent, SOME agents find that you are not loyal to them and COULD decide not to call again...
My suggestion is to find out if you are "allowed" to have several agents for your area and submit to all... sign non-exclusive with those that want your child. After a while, you will be able to see which agents work "harder" for your child... keep that one & (politely) drop the others (by not resigning next year). When doing so, I would send a note to the agents you are keeping letting them know that you have decided to work closely with them & have let go other agents in their area... this will show that you are loyal to their agency & they will appreciate it, hopefully by working more closely with you in return.
I wouldn't recommend going with someone excusive off the bat... there are some agencies that just don't ever call, and if you are stuck with them, you are losing out on other opportunities.
Hope that helps. __________________ http://www.AlexMaderaOnline.com
